So yeah, like so many projects I start, this blog seemed to fall by the wayside...
So I'm just going to do a really quick update, as I have *way* too much to do right now.
Firstly, the work on my EP has turned into work on my full length Album, Work on that has been fairly steady, and the deadline for recording is later this month, at which point, it will be going off to the publishers.
Once that's been published, my plan is to have a large CD launch party, with a full band (Probably happening in late November). I can't reveal much about the band, except for the Pianist - George Begbie, who has been a massive help throughout the recording of this album.
Wedding plans have been finalised, and I will be happily married to Jessie as of the 13th of February!
Vino have been playing around a fair bit, and we have been getting quite a few private gigs at parties and conferences. We'll be playing at the Taste of Tasmania later this year, and hopefully returning to the Cygnet Folk Festival again, as well as playing numerous gigs at various venues around Hobart.
Also, a while ago, I officially joined Amy Kendall's band "The Kitchenhands", initially as her guitarist, but after discovering that no one except Amy can master her fingerpicking style, I given the role of Percussionist. Keep an eye on her website for updates: http://www.amykendall.com.au/
I think that's about it from me, I've been playing intermittent gigs while I work away in the studio, and have been doing a bit of Live Sound mixing for Irish Murphys on occasion.
I'll be playing one of those intermittent gigs at The Lark Distillery on the 11th of September, you should totally come - it'll be awesome.
'Till next time
-Dave
